The online hit Wartune announced last year that it would launch a yet-to-be-named novel and has drawn much attention ever since. It's been two months since Wartune began the crowdfunding event and the novel is now in the works with Chioma Osifo working diligently to finish. She's already submitted a first draft and has been making corrections to the second.
Isaac Lee Wartune's team leader at Proficient City Limited says they were undeterred by the crowdfunding results. They had made a promise to their players and were dedicated to expanding the Wartune universe and sharing the news. The money from the crowdfunding will be used to make game products for the players that have supported this great project. Also to assure that the novel content doesn't diverge from Wartune's original lore some members from the Wartune group will be responsible for communicating with the writer and offering suggestions according to the game content.
The writer will have a better understanding of players' needs and reflect the Wartune world in a more accurate way which is really Proficient City's main objective. The novel is estimated to come out in the second quarter of this year so there's quite a bit to work on. To attract players and keep them interested in this project throughout its development the Wartune group will be sharing some interesting passages with players which can be found on the Wartune Official Website or Wartune's Facebook fan page!
Additional rewards including dog tags post cards and other items already been sent to players. “We would like to show our players how grateful we are for all the support they've been showing us since we've started with this and we really hope they enjoy the gifts that they'll be receiving. Our main priority is to keep them as happy as possible.” said Isaac. The limited-edition game-themed postcards had handwritten greetings from famous Wartune characters along with their signatures and Wartune wax seals. The company has made a lot of products for their players and will be sending them out as the novel comes closer to publication.
Wartune has also recently been greenlit on Steam. This in an extraordinary boon for Proficient City and should help significantly increase their fan base. They received over 1000 votes and were greenlit in less than 1 month battling hard against hundreds of other games.
