Oman- 461 workers found violating Labour Law

The weekly report of the Ministry of Manpower's joint inspection team shows that the number of expatriate workers found violating the Labour Law between February 7 and 13 stood at 461.

These included 380 commercial workers 34 farm workers and 47 housemaids and their equivalents.

The inspection teams caught 448 workers of whom 157 had been declared absconding by their employers 278 were retrenched and 13 had other violations registered against them.

The highest law violations were recorded in South Sharqiyah (164) followed by Muscat governorate 138.

On the other hand the statistics also showed that 533 expatriate workers arrested earlier for Labour Law violations were deported during the period.
