Oman- Indian School Seeb to introduce safe transport system

As a timely measure and heeding to a demand from the parents Indian School Seeb will introduce the 'School Monitored Safe Transport System' from the first week of March for safe conveyance of students to and from the school.

In the initial stage six buses will ply on four different routes on a trial basis stated a press release.

The school plans to cover all other routes as and when the requirements meet the minimum capacity to run a route.

450 students have enrolled to join the school monitored transport. 100 students have been included in the initial stage and the remaining will be accommodated in the due course of time the release added.

The number of children in the buses will be strictly limited to the seating capacity and as per the Indian Schools Board of Directors' safe transport specifications and in line with the ROP and Ministry of Education safety guidelines. As per the instructions of the transport core committee the buses are fitted with safety features such as CCTV for monitoring students and drivers seat belts IVMS for monitoring the buses emergency exit well maintained seats and interiors etc.

Trained and experienced drivers have been recruited. To ensure the safety of the students there will be a trained assistant or helper in the bus. A school staff member will be present in the bus to monitor the pick-up and drop-off of the students.

Indian School Seeb's management committee under the guidance of the Board of Directors has taken this unparalleled initiative to execute quality implementation of a reliable secure and safe transportation system and to ensure the utmost safety and comfort of the students.
The execution of school monitored transport system is done through private bus operator National Distance Trading LLC Azaiba. Based on their capacity to meet the maximum safety standards and resources the private operator was chosen through a tender process by the School Management Committee and has been awarded the contract.

The transport system will be continuously under the surveillance of the school transport governing body and will be constantly monitored to guarantee the safety and security of the students.

Indian School Seeb is the third Indian school in Oman to implement a safe transport system plan.

Indian School Ma'abela and Indian School Darsait introduced safe transport systems in August 2015.
