KUWAIT 17th February 2016 (WAM) -- The Kuwait Oil Company KOC said on Wednesday that its fire-fighting teams are making ongoing efforts to put out the fire at the crude oil driller in northern Kuwait.

Kuwait News Agency KUNA quoted KOC official spokesman Saad Rashed Al-Azmi as saying that roads leading to northern regions and oil fields are "safe" and that the reading of emitted gas "is assuring and the thick gas is caused by putting out the blaze".

On Tuesday the Environmental Public Authority in Kuwait said that the gases caused by the fire contained no hazardous elements. The EPA also said that it had been monitoring the situation since the fire eruption.
