UAE- Rahma to take part in Gulf Cancer Awareness Week caign

DUBAI 17th February 2016 (WAM) -- Under the guidance of Dr. Jamal Sanad Al-Suwaidi Director-General of the Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research ECSSR Chairman of the Board of the Cancer Patient Care Society CPCS "Rahma" Ms. Noura Jamal Sanad Al-Suwaidi Rahma Director-General will lead a delegation to take part in events coinciding with the Gulf Cancer Awareness Week Campaign held under the patronage of the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention. The events are scheduled to take place at the children's playground at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi tomorrow Thursday February 18th.

Thursday's event was coordinated by Dr. Buthaina Abdullah bin Balila Family Medicine Consultant and Head of the Non-Communicable Diseases Section at the Ministry of Health and Prevention the Cancer Patient Care SocietyRahma Special Occasion and the medical administrative and technical staff at Khalifa Hospital.

As declared by Dr. Jamal Sanad Al-Suwaidi Rahma has taken upon itself the noble humanitarian mission of seeking to aid cancer patients both within the UAE and across the international spectrum. Rahma operates in accordance with the highest ethical and professional standards in order to meet its objectives incorporating traditional Emirati principles and values that do not discriminate on the basis of colour religion or race regardless the circumstances.

Rahma has sought to encourage active community involvement in order to strengthen lines of communication between patients their families and friends on the one hand and community support groups donors volunteers sympathizers and survivors on the other.

Children with cancer are the focus of the event. There will be approximately thirty boys and girls in attendance accompanied by their families and friends their doctors care supervisors and volunteers who have dedicated themselves to serving these members of UAE society. The event organisers have together planned a series of activities for the children to take part in including decorating sculptures playing with balloons drawing and magic shows. There will also be a chocolate and candy fountain and a small buffet for the children and Rahma will present the children with gifts and toys to take home with them.
