Sheikh Al Azhar commends UAE s support to Arab countries

CAIRO 16th February 2016 (WAM)--The Grand Imam Dr. Ahmed el-Tayeb Sheikh of Al-Azhar has praised the UAE's support to the Arab brothers stressing that this noble attitude reflects the UAE wise leadership's firm position in tackling the Arab and Islamic world's issues.

He added that this stance is not a surprise from sons of the Arab wise man who follow his legacy in support of Al-Azhar and its message being the beacon for science that attracts students from around the world.

Sheikh of Al Azhar made the remarks today while receiving the UAE Minister of Education Hussein Ibrahim Al Hammadi who was accompanied by Mohammed bin Nakhira Al Dhahiri UAE Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League and Sheikha Khaloud Al Qasimi Assistant Under-Secretary for Quality Assurance Sector.

He added "Our curriculums are not updated across the Arab countries and we need to bring information closer to students at all levels of education through the quality academic content and appropriate educational environment" pointing out that Al-Azhar fosters the Islamic heritage and teaches it to students being expressive about the Islamic world's culture and identity.

For his part Al Hammadi stressed the importance of cooperation between Al-Azhar and the Ministry of Education on the educational and cultural affairs as well as the curriculum development which has been reviewed by the constellation of Al-Azhar scholars.

He commended Al Azhar for the development of its educational curriculum based on promotion of the centrist Islam values and culture of peace and coexistence.
