Qatar beat Malaysia in AFC Futsal Championship 2016

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Braces from Hadi Jaber and Lucas Oliveira helped Qatar pick up their first points of the AFC Futsal Championship with a 6-2 win over Malaysia in Group D yesterday.
In the match played at the Universal Stadium in Tashkent, Malaysia took the lead in the second minute through Akmalrulnizam Mohamed Idris but a minute later Qatar responded through Mohamed Ali, according to the AFC official website.
Further goals from Saad Bilal and Jaber put the West Asians in firm control before Mohamed Afif pulled one back shortly before the interval.
Jaber restored Qatar's two-goal advantage in the 26th minute after Muhamad Fitri was sent off before Oliveira's late double wrapped up the scoring as Tiago De Sousa's side claimed the victory.
Earlier, Japan defeated Australia 3-1 to finish on top with nine points after winning all three matches, while Australia finished second with six points but both teams had already booked their berths in the quarterfinals even before the match.
Malaysia lost 1-2 to Australia in their opening match on Thursday before being mauled 11-1 by Japan on Saturday.
