Qatar- Tunisian Sailors Detained in Libya Released


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Tunis February 16 (QNA) - The Tunisian sailors who were detained last week in the port of Tripoli Libya have been released pending the completion of administrative procedures for the boats seized at the port of Zawiya in the coming hours the Vice President of the Tunisian Union of Agriculture and Fisheries (UTAP) in charge of fishing Noureddine Ben Ayed said.

UTAP said the "Libyan brothers in a sign of solidarity started preparing the boats seized at the port of Tripoli and supplying them with fuel and provisions pending their return in Tunisia." The release took place after intense contacts with the Libyan sides UTAP said hoping that "all Tunisian boats could leave the ports of Zawiya and Tripoli at the same time to be able to arrive on Tuesday at the port of Zarzis." Libyan coastguards had seized six boats with 69 fishermen on board causing a tension in the region and among fishermen and their family. Three boats were retained in the port of Tripoli and three others in Zawiya. (QNA)
