Palestinians clash with Israeli forces in Nablus


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Ramallah Feb.16 (Petra) -- Violent clashes broke out early Tuesday between Palestinians youths and Israeli occupation forces east of the West Bank city of Nablus .

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) reported that confrontation erupted when Israeli forces stormed what they claim to be "Joseph Tomb" east of the city to perform their Talmudic rites noting that Israeli soldiers were deployed in the area and took up positions on Palestinian homes' roof-tops.

Israeli soldiers fired tear gas canisters and sound bombs against the locals leaving a number of them injured the PRCS added.

It added that dozens of buses carrying extremist settlers backed by military vehicles also broke into the area.
