Collective action key to counter security threats- Bahraini King


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) MANAMA Feb 15 (KUNA) -- King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa said Monday Bahrain should be committed to collective action with brotherly and friendly countries to counter security threats.King Hamad while chairing a cabinet meeting underlined importance of Bahrain's participation in Saudi-led military maneuvers code-named Ra'ad Al-Shamal (Thunder of the North) the largest in the history of the region a statement by the government said.Bahrain is also actively participating in operations supporting the legitimate leadership in Yemen he said.Ra'ad Al-Shamal will feature participation of 20 countries in addition to the Peninsula Shield Forces and the drills aim at protecting the Gulf Arab and Muslim people from terrorism said King Hamad.Forces from Saudi Arabia the UAE Jordan Bahrain Senegal Sudan Kuwait Maldives Morocco Pakistan Chad Tunisia Comoros Djibouti Oman Qatar Malaysia Egypt Mauritania and Mauritius are taking part in the war games.Ra'ad Al-Shamal is the largest military exercise in terms of number of participating countries and qualitative military equipment of diverse sophisticated weapons and military equipment.
