Qatar- HE Deputy Prime Minister Meets Head of UNAMID

(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Doha February 15 (QNA) - HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud met Monday with Joint AU-UN Special Representative for Darfur Head of UNAMID and Joint Chief Mediator Dr. Martin Ihoeghian Uhomoibhi and his accompanying delegation.
During the meeting they discussed ways of enhancing the peace process in Darfur and the efforts made to inflict Darfur armed movements that had not signed the "Doha Document for Peace in Darfur" in the peace process on the basis of the document.
Head of the UNAMID hailed Qatar's importance role to establish peace in Darfur and its role in the reconstruction and development of Darfur.
For his part HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs praised the efforts exerted by the UNAMID wishing Dr. Uhomoibhi success in his duties.
Dr. Martin Ihoeghian Uhomoibhi of Nigeria was recently appointed as Joint Special Representative for Darfur and Head of the African Union-United Nations Hybrid Operation in Darfur (UNAMID). (QNA)
