DOHA: Sheikh Thani Bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) has provided fresh humanitarian aid to 3000 Syrian refugees in Lebanon.

The aid including baskets of basic food items and fuel for heaters was distributed to refugee families sheltering at Sahl Al Baqa Balbak Arsal and Nahr Al Barid camps.

The aid will be enough for a month and is part of RAF’s charity drive launched recently to provide basic needs to Syrian refugees in Lebanon during winter.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has issued warning about the deteriorating situation of millions of Syrian refugees with growing demands for humanitarian aid and decreasing financial support of the international community.

RAF said in a statement that the condition of Syrian refugees in Lebanon is not good.

It said about 1.5 million refugees are sheltering in the country.

Refugees in all areas of Lebanon need financial support especially those living in at-random camps due to the influx of a large number of refugees the statement added. The Peninsula
