The course was organised in partnership with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and instructed by RedR a global humanitarian capacity building NGO based in the United Kingdom.

Hosting the course comes in line with IHC's "Connect: Humanity" pillar objectives to enable and support the work of humanitarian agencies and NGOs aiming to enhance the capabilities of the humanitarian workers globally.

This also comes under the broader goals of IHC being part of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives to invest AED 1.5 billion in knowledge and education with the aim of empowering communities in the region and around the globe.

Attended by 15 humanitarian workers from organisations based in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Bahrain Kuwait and the UAE in addition to IHC's members form the international humanitarian organisations the course was designed to strengthen the skills and knowledge base of humanitarian personnel that are required to manage projects in emergency settings in addition to development practitioners aiming to manage projects in emergency response.

Also it included material on needs assessment methods; project design; monitoring and evaluation; financial analysis; and the importance of coordination and collaboration. These topics are of critical nature to the sector as the scale of humanitarian crises continues to rise year by year pushing the humanitarian community to its limit.
