Turkey- Key Bulgaria Greece Checkpoint Remains Closed to Transit Trucks


(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) The Bulgarian Interior Ministry has said that as of 10:30 local time the Kulata-Promachonasbordercrossing betweenBulgariaandGreeceis open to all traffic.

No information is available about the other major checkpoint at the Bulgarian-Greeceborder Ilinden-Exochi where movement of transit trucks has been restricted since 22:00 on Saturday.

Theprotestof Greekfarmersis entering its fourth week with demonstrators demanding that the government renounce its plans for reform to legislation on pensions and taxation.

As of 06:00 EET on SaturdayBulgaria'sborderpolice authorities inform that "information about the traffic on [allbordercrossing points withGreece] will be received from the Press Office of the Ministry of Interior."

Separately a 2-km queue of trucks was formed at the Kapitan Andreevobordercrossing betweenBulgariaand Turkey as of that hour.
