Officials from Arab states including Kuwait discuss socio economic issues


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO Feb 14 (KUNA) -- Social Affairs Committee of the Arab League Economic and Social Council started a meeting here on Sunday in preparation for the forthcoming 97th ministerial session.In the opening statement the Arab League Assistant Secretary General for Social Affairs Ambassador Bader Al-Alali said talks during the meeting would focus on social issues to be referred to the ministerial session scheduled on Thursday.The 10-topic agenda would be submitted to the forthcoming Arab Summit due to be hosted by Morocco he said also indicating that the conferees would also prepare for the fourth Arab-African Summit due in Equatorial Guinea in November.Al-Alali said further that the meeting would address other issues such as cooperation between the Arab League and the United Nations in the social field follow up on an integrated program for employment and tackling unemployment in the Arab world beside a plan for merging peoples of special needs into their communities.A draft plan forwarded by Kuwait deals with voluntary work and its role in social development combating terrorism and resolutions of the Council's 96th session.The commission will submit outcomes of the meeting to the council senior officials who will hold a meeting on Wednesday pending referral to the ministerial-level session on Thursday.Kuwaiti delegation taking part in the meeting is headed by Yousef Al-Roumi director of the Arab and Gulf Cooperation Department at the Ministry of Finance.
