Qatar- Kerry Announces Ceasefire in Syria 'Within a Week'

(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Munich February 12 (QNA) - US Secretary of state John Kerry last announced a deal that will see a ceasefire in Syria within a week following a meeting of The International Syria Support Group in Munich.
In an agreement brokered between the US Russia and other powers in Munich a UN task force will work over the coming days "to develop the modalities for a long-term comprehensive and durable cessation of violence." Kerry said: 'We have agreed to implement a nationwide cessation of hostilities to begin in one week's time.
However military action will be allowed to continue against the ISIS group and Jabhat al-Nusra.
Humanitarian aid is to be delivered to besieged areas across Syria in the next few days with a working group to monitor progress meeting on Friday in Geneva. (QNA)
