Turkey- Doan Holding condemns attacks against newspaper offices

(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) Doan Holding has condemned armed attacks targeting the offices of two newspapers in Istanbul on early Feb. 11.
Doan Holding Honorary Chairman Aydn Doan and Hürriyet chair Vuslan Doan Sabanc called Akit Media Group CEO Mustafa Karahasanolu and Yeni afak Publisher Ahmet Albayrak condemning the attack and extending their concern at the events.
Sabanc expressed her hope that the perpetrators would be immediately caught and that such attacks would not be repeated.
Doan also called Karahasanolu and Albayrak extending his greetings.
The Istanbul offices of daily Yeni afak and Yeni Akit were vandalized with Molotov cocktails and weapons early on Feb. 11. Three or four masked attackers launched an attack on Yeni afak’s offices in the Yenidoan neighborhood of Istanbul’s Bayrampaa district at 5 a.m. while a group of masked assailants attacked the Akit media group building in the Halkal Merkez neighborhood of Küçükçekmece with Molotov cocktails and weapons half an hour later.
