Jordan- PM, Palestinian economy minister discuss trade ties


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman Feb. 11 (Petra) -- Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour on Thursday met the Palestinian Economy Minister Abeer Odeh and discussed ways to forge closer economic ties between the two sides.

At the meeting attended by Minister of Industry Trade and Supply Maha Ali the Palestinian minister said the volume of trade exchange between Jordan and Palestine is modest and is still below the aspired level.

She also emphasized the importance of enhancing trade ties and activating work of the Joint Jordanian-Palestinian Higher Committee.

Odeh also spoke about hurdles facing Palestinian exports due to measures imposed by Israel on these exports.

In turn the premier stressed Jordan's support to the Palestinians and said Jordan is keen to cement cooperation between the two sides at all levels especially in the economic and trade fields.

Jordan Esnour said is ready to help in removing hurdles and challenges facing the Palestinian exports at crossing points.
