Dubai, UAE: Shaikh Zayed Air Navigation Centre's (SZC) latest reports reveal that total air traffic movements in UAE airspace reached 77,887 last month.
The UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) announced that air traffic movements in the UAE saw an increase of 5.8 percent in January, 2016, compared with the same period of month last year.
The January report indicates that Dubai ranked first with 35,298 air traffic movements.
Over-flights got second place at 13,818 air traffic movements.
Abu Dhabi stood third with 13,449 air traffic movements, the reports say.
According to the report, air traffic movements in Sharjah International Airport came next with 6,180 movements.
Total local flights between UAE airports numbered 5,758 movements, while Fujairah International Airport witnessed 71 movements.
Ras al-Khaimah International Airport had 514 air traffic movements and Al Ain Airport had 176 air traffic movements.
2,628 movements were witnessed at Al Maktoum International Airport.
