Qatar and Saudi ministers discuss investment plans


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) H E Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim Al Thani Minister of Economy and Commerce with Dr Tawfiq Al Rabiah Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Commerce and Industry in Riyadh yesterday.

DOHA: H E Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim Al Thani Minister of Economy and Commerce met with H E Dr Tawfiq Al Rabiah Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Commerce and Industry in Riyadh.

Meeting discussed prospects of joint cooperation between the two countries particularly in the areas of economy trade and investment and ways of enhancing them. The Qatari delegation accompanying the Minister made presentations on the Qatar’s vibrant trade sector and key major projects that offer opportunities for foreign investments. The presentations also included Qatar’s healthy business environment and its economic diversification story.

The Saudi side also made a presentation on the achievements made by the Saudi Ministry of Commerce and Industry in several sectors.

The Qatari delegations attended four workshops that highlighted Saudi Arabia’s commercial licensing system consumer protection corporate control and information system; and regulations and laws.

On Monday Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim met with Deputy Governor of Saudi General Investment Authority (SAGIA) Prince Saud bin Khalid Al Faisal in Riyadh.

They discussed possibilites of joint cooperation in various investment fields.
