(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Mannai Group celebrated the National Sport day by holding various sports and cultural activities for all its associates yesterday.
In his welcome address, executive director Khalid Mannai said the group supports the government initiative of dedicating a day, recognising the importance of a healthy and active lifestyle.
"With our ongoing tournaments planned during the year, everyone is encouraged to participate. It is by engaging in these programmes and social initiatives that we foster camaraderie, promoting team spirit amongst our staff that can extend to the workplace," he said.
As in the previous years, Mannai employees competed in a series of off-site tournaments for football, cricket, and squash. Basketball, volleyball, chess and table tennis were held at a dedicated facility within Mannai accommodation compound. In line with Mannai's tradition of recognising loyal service by its associates, the 2016 Sport day event was concluded by honouring six associates who completed 25 years of service during this year.
