Oman- Maximum consumer complaints during 2015 from Muscat governorate: PACP

The maximum number of complaints to the Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP) during 2015 were from Muscat consumers.

As per the authority's Directorate General for Research and Development report a total of 6174 complaints were registered from all across Oman.

The most - 2469 - were registered from Muscat governorate. Of these 1218 were from the wilayat of Seeb alone according to Sultan Saif al Sawafi director of PACP's data and economic information department.

Sawafi said that the complaints came regarding products and services across a range of sectors. Complaints from the food sector numbered 1753 those regarding other goods stood at 1267; there were nearly 620 complaints filed against barber shops and beauty salons; 588 against restaurants and cafes; 384 in other service sectors.

The rest of the complaints were pertaining car agencies building materials and construction tyres vehicle repairs electrical goods livestock and animal feed communication service and phone shops metallurgy travel and tourism manpower services and jewellery among others.
