Oman- Focus on innovative solutions increasing efficiency at OPMEX

Focusing on innovative solutions increasing efficiency and cutting cost the Oman Packaging & Material Handling Exhibition (OPMEX 2016) began on Monday under the patronage of Mohsin bin Khamis al Balushi Advisor to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. Representatives from all levels of the value chain in the packaging and material handling industry are taking part in the exhibition.

Held at the Oman International Exhibition Centre the two-day event is being organised by Oman International Trade & Exhibitions (OITE) in cooperation with the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE).

Omair Khan senior marketing manager OITE said 'As declining oil prices are affecting the region the domestic industry is under pressure to retain competitive edge and manage its resources judiciously. It is vital for businesses and industrialists to focus on efficiency.'

Khan said the exhibition aims to provide innovative solutions in all areas of packaging and material handling to increase efficiency and reduce cost. 'It is a key forum for the exchange of ideas networking and meeting experts in the field.'

The first day of the conference saw sessions on how to improve a brand through packaging and how innovative packaging can reduce cost. The second day will see discussions on how companies can transform their warehouses into profit centres.
