Qatar- Turkish President Meets Minister of State for Defense Affairs


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Ankara February 08 (QNA) - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met today with HE Minister of State for Defense Affairs Dr Khalid bin Mohammad Al Attiyah on the occasion of his visit to Turkey.
At the outset of the meeting HE the Minister of State for Defense Affairs conveyed greetings of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to the Turkish President wishing him good health and happiness and further progress and prosperity to the Republic of Turkey.
For his part the Turkish President entrusted HE the Minister of State for Defense Affairs to convey his greetings to HH the Emir wishing him continued good health and happiness and more progress and prosperity to the State of Qatar.
During the meeting they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways of enhancing them. They also exchanged views on a number of issues of common interest especially in the military fields and discussed the overall situation on the Arab and international arenas.
HE Dr. Al Attiyah met also separately Turkish Minister of Defense Ismet Yilmaz and Chief of the General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces Hulusi Akar.
During the meetings they discussed issues of mutual interest especially those related to the military aspects and ways of developing them to serve the common interests of both countries.
The meetings were attended by HE Qatar's Ambassador to the Republic of Turkey Salem bin Mubarak Al Shafi and the delegation accompanying HE the Minister of State for Defense Affairs. (QNA)
