Qatar Rail Showcases Infrastructure Projects at AIPS Congress


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Qatar Rail Managing Director Eng. Abdulla Abdulaziz Al Subaie said the company is working to achieve the Qatar National Vision 2030 that aims to diversify economy, stressing that the company aims to promote infrastructure, particularly in the public transport sector so as to establish a convenient network ahead of the 2022 World Cup.

Al Subaie made the remarks during a presentation before the 79th International Sports Press Association (AIPS) congress, which is taking place in Doha under the organization of the sports media committee over four days with the participation of several international and local sports organizations as well as media personalities from 107 countries.

He revealed the latest developments of the Doha Metro, the biggest infrastructure project Qatar is currently undertaking ahead of the World Cup and towards Qatar National Vision 2030. The project is set to have 100 stations extended across a distance of 215 kilometers and the first phase will open in 2019.
