Oman to have first Integrated Light Industries City

Muscat 8th February 2016 (WAM)--- Sandan Development revealed at a press conference the details of a first-of-its-kind project to establish the first integrated light industries city in the Sultanate of Oman.

The CEO of SANDAN Said bin Nasser bin Salim al-Rashdi said that the project which is the first of its kind in the Sultanate will be constructed over 250000 sqm and a 5km-away from Al Ma'abailah exit at Muscat Express Way.

Oman News Agency (ONA) quoted al-Rashdi s saying'' The city will host 2200 workshops and exhibitions for building materials and automotives 400 offices and 1800 residential units for workers. All the units of the project- workshops offices tradeshows and residential units- will be offered for direct sale; and buyers have the opportunity to pay in interest-free installments extending for 18 months. All facilities are expected to be available for the expected 15.000 people who will reside in the city; such as hypermarket restaurants hospital mosque etc.

The execution is scheduled to kick-off in June 2016 while by the middle of 2018 the project is expected to be complete. The location is between Muscat Express Way and the Al Batinah Express Way with three front lines and 10 exits so the project has the perfect location for customers coming from Muscat or Al Batinah and helps in making traffic flow go smoothly said al-Rashdi.
