CounterPath wins Ingram Micro gig

Ingram which delivers a full spectrum of global technology and supply chain services to businesses around the world will distribute CounterPath's over-the-top (OTT) communications solutions. 'Our new relationship with Ingram Micro immediately expands our reach and relevance to IT channel partners throughout the US" said Todd Carothers from CounterPath's marketing and products department. 'The old paradigm of vertical vendor-led platforms is out the door and is rapidly being replaced by solutions that support any device any platform over any network. We leverage this shift and do it in a way that secures voice video messaging presence and collaboration all unified across a common user interface that is truly unique to CounterPath' Carothers claimed. Kevin Prewett senior director of Ingram's Advanced Solutions division said: "CounterPath's Bria softphone and Stretto Platform will enable channel partners to meet the rising demand for highly secure and flexible solutions that are easy to deploy regardless of the underlying IT infrastructure their customers may have." The deal should provide a shot in the arm for the Canadian company's share price which has lost one-fifth of its value on the Toronto market over the last year.
