Oman's natural gas imports increase by 5.6 percent


(MENAFN) Oman's natural gas production and imports grew 5.6 percent to 39,806mn cubic meters (MNCM) last year, up from 37,687 MNCM in 2014.

However, non-associated gas and imports showed an increase of 6.2 percent to 32,806 MNCM, linked gas production increased 3.1 percent to 7,001 MNCM.

Additionally, a sizable portion of natural gas in the Sultanate is used by many industrial projects, which reached 22,036 MNCM a year earlier.

Moreover, natural gas consumption increased in line with growth in crude production from improved oil recovery projects, which grew by 4 percent.
