Ford prepares to construct new plant in Mexico


(MENAFN) Ford, the American multinational automaker plans to build a new auto plant in Mexico, with the goal of reviving up production over there, according to the latest reports.

In particular, the scheme consists of establishing a new assembly complex in San Luis Potosi and expanding an existing facility near Mexico City, thus adding 500k units of annual capacity.

Basically, the crucial move reflects how Mexico has become an attractive place for global carmakers, as they seek to explore more means and opportunities that could bring them more profits.

The company sells automobiles and commercial vehicles under the Ford brand and most luxury cars under the Lincoln brand, plus it owns Brazilian SUV manufacturer, Troller.
