UAE- Sharjah Police arrests four people for thefts at warehouses

Sharjah Police arrested a gang of four Pakistanis yesterday who were involved in a spate of robberies at electrical supplies outlets and warehouses in Sharjah industrial areas.

According to a top CID official the gang members broke into shops and stole electrical devices wires and copper pipes.

He explained that the Industrial Area police station had been receiving several complains about the robberies and they immediately formed a team to investigate and arrest the gang members.

During the course of investigation the team managed to seize a large numbers of stolen items from a suspect's residence.

The other suspects confessed their crime and told the police that they had broken into many warehouses. The suspects have been referred to the public prosecution for further investigation.

Sharjah Police has urged the shopkeepers owners of warehouses and outlets to improve security measures in order to protect their premises.

"We continue to urge the owners of warehouses and shops to tighten their security measures install security cameras to prevent such crimes and link their premises to the operation room which can detect any attempt of a criminal activity. Also installation of enough light is important as it would help reduce the crime" a top CID officer said.
