Moroccan Film Wins Gold Award in Luxor Egyptian and European Film Festival


(MENAFN- Morocco World News) The Moroccan film A Mile in My Shoes by director Said Khallaf won the Gold Award for Best Feature Movie at the 4th annual Luxor Egyptian and European Film Festival which concluded on Friday in Egypt.

The movie portrays the story of a teenager who experiences a tragic fate and decides to seek revenge against the society that he views as intolerant him.

The film was released in Moroccan theaters on December 30 2015. It features Moroccan actors Amine Ennaji and Noufissa Benchehida.

The Bronze Prize went to Tunisian filmmaker Leila Bouzid for her movie I Just Opened My Eyes which also won the Best Arab Film Award from the General Union of Arab Artists.

The jury awarded the Prize for Best Short Film to Lebanese director Karim Rahbani for his movie And with Thy Spirit.

The festival was organized by the Noun Foundation for Culture and Arts. Participants included 50 films from approximately 30 countries.
