UAE- Sharjah EDD discusses trade cooperation with Japan

SHARJAH 7th February 2016 (WAM) --The Sharjah Economic Development Department SEDD and a delegation from the Japan External Trade Organisation JETRO have discussed ways to strengthen trade and investment relations in order to develop and enhance communication between the business community in both countries.

Sultan Abdullah bin Hadda Al Suwaidi Chairman of Sharjah Economic Development Department welcomed the delegation which was headed by Hiroyuki Ishige Chairman of JETRO. He expressed his delight with the visit and its role in promoting cooperation in various spheres and speeding up the development processes out of the department's keen interest to encourage and attract investment and capital for the UAE in general and Sharjah in particular.

During the meeting the two parties discussed aspects of joint trade cooperation and ways to strengthen and develop it to serve the economic relations between them in addition to discussing and reviewing opportunities to increase trade and investment exchanges between the two sides.

The SEDD confirmed its support to foreign investors in order to diversify economic sectors and to achieve sustainable economic development.

At the end of the meeting Al Suwaidi stressed the SEDD's keen interest on the exchange of experiences and knowledge with various parties noting the need to invest in good relations which brings together the United Arab Emirates and Japan in serving their common interests in the economic trade and investment fields.

The members of the visiting delegation expressed their happiness at the visit which gave them the opportunity to get acquainted with the investment climate in Sharjah praising the level of services and distinguished facilities provided to investors and businessmen and those who are interested in capital which is considered a catalyst for closer cooperation and attracting Japanese investment.
