ABU DHABI 7th February 2016 (WAM) -- Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces the competitions of the Qasr Al Hosn Arab Camel Race Festival 2016 will be launched on 13th February and runs until 19th in the city of Sweihan.

The festival which is taking place for the fourth consecutive year comes this year on the 250th anniversary of Qasr Al Hosn which is the oldest historic edifice in the capital Abu Dhabi.

Qasr Al Hosn tells the story of Abu Dhabi and the Emirati people. The origins of Abu Dhabi began a little over 250 years ago and since then the island capital has witnessed dramatic changes; the small fishing community grew into a town and then a high-rise modern city. Today Abu Dhabi is the very definition of a global city.
