Kuwait's Amb. in Canberra praises Australia's peaceful role


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT Feb 7 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Ambassador to Australia Najeeb Al-Bader expressed his appreciation Sunday for the prominent role of Australia in boosting the international peace and security especially through its contribution to liberate Kuwait following the 1990 Iraqi invasion.This came during a meeting with the Secretary of the Australian Government's Department of Veterans Simon Lewis and First Assistant Secretary Client and Commemorations Division Major General Dave Chalmers in Canberra Australia Kuwait's Embassy in Australia said in a statement.Al-Bader said that Australia's contribution in the international peacekeeping forces in nine Arab countries confirms the country's keenness on strengthening its relations with the Middle East region.He also pointed out to Australia's active participation in the international coalition forces led by the United States to fight the so-called Islamic state (IS) in Iraq and Syria.He expressed satisfaction on the level of cooperation between the two countries in various feilds stressing the unanimity of views on all issues especially the crises in the region.For his part Lewis expressed his pride of Australia's participation in Kuwait's liberation war adding that the number of military forces participated amounted to 1581 including the naval forces.(end) haq
