Japanese economy to fall at 1.2 percent in Q4

(MENAFN) Japan's economy likely slight in the last quarter a year earlier at 1.2 percent in Oct-Dec, dragged down by weakness in consumer spending.

Additionally, external need contribution continued to stay positive in Q4, but it was not strong to offset drops in local demand.

Moreover, the country needs to focus on downside risks to consumer spending and exports due to the Yen's appreciation and stock falls.

Private consumption which stood at almost 60 percent of GDP, likely dropped 0.6 percent in Q4, while it grew 0.4 percent in the previous quarter.
