Dutch ING posts 220pct surge in net profit over 2015

(MENAFN) Due to an improving economy and an increase in lending, ING, the top Dutch bank witnessed its profit surge substantially through the previous year.

Gross profits touched a little over USD4.47 billion, up by a striking 220.5 percent year-on-year, whereas turnover climbed 8.2 percent to USD18.1 billion.

This significant recovery came after the bank saw its earnings slump by an overwhelming 64 percent in 2014, mainly because of a major restructuring.

The ING Group's main businesses are retail banking, direct banking, commercial banking, investment banking, asset management, and insurance services.
