Qatar- US Commando Troops to Participate in Military Exercises in S. Korea


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Seoul February 04 (QNA) - US forces stationed in South Korea announced that commando units recently arrived on the Korean Peninsula.
United States Forces Korea (USFK) said in a news release that troops of the US Army's 1st Special Forces Group and the 75th Ranger Regiment came to participate in an upcoming joint exercise with the South Korean military.
The units have partaken in assassination missions of key terrorists in Iraq and Afghanistan. The units have also conducted nonproliferation missions aimed at preventing weapons of mass destruction from falling into the hands of terrorists according to Korea's (KBS WORLD) radio.
It is considered rare for US military officials to reveal specific units participating in training exercises in South Korea. (QNA)
