Lebanon needs USD 12bn loan to handle refugee "earthquake"


(MENAFN) Lebanon will need USD 12bn loan over the coming five years to cope with the "outgoing earthquake" of the Syrian refugee problem.

Moreover, Lebanon which is a nation of 4mn people, hosts more than 1mn recorded Syrian refugees, whereas the number of the refugees is much higher.

In addition, the country will ask for whole of USD 12bn split between traditional-style help and loans and hopes that Britain will give it the loan.

Accordingly, Lebanon will ask for concessional financing at almost USD 7bn for projects infrastructure and others that will get from the World Bank.
