GE Egypt to begin wind power plant with USD 150mn


(MENAFN) General Electric (GE) introduced an offer to the New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA) to establish a wind power plant with USD 150mn investments.

Additionally, the law permits for the establishment of renewable energy projects through tenders or through the Build Own Operate (BOO) system.

Accordingly, GE provided to build a factory to manufacture rotor blades for wind turbines, likely to the factory being implemented by Siemens.

Moreover, the country entered a business agreement between African states to motivate usage of renewable energy until 2020, which will depend on renewable energy.
