UAE- Sharjah Chamber launches initiative to attract businesses

Sharjah will soon be the hub of business excellence not just in the Middle East but also in the whole Mena region as the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) officially inaugurated the nationwide shjSEEN campaign on Tuesday.

"The aspiration of this project is not just to make Sharjah the hub of business in the Middle East but also in the Mena region - to attract people from the Mena region to come and invest in Sharjah" said Sara Al Madani SCCI board member and member of the shjSEEN board of trustees.

"The event marks the start of a national campaign which invites UAE residents to connect with Sharjah's government initiatives."

The shjSEEN campaign is aimed at strengthening the culture of quality organisational excellence and innovation in Sharjah. The project not only spotlights Sharjah's economy and its growth but also celebrates existing businesses through new initiatives.

"We decided to take the Sharjah Economic Excellence Awards through a modern change. We took the same values and ethics behind the awards and modernised it. It used to be an award that only benefited and served the big established corporations. But now it will be a network that stands on three crucial pillars and includes the awards" Al Madani told attendees at the event.

The shjSEEN brand identity serves to strengthen Sharjah's position as an aspirational place to live work and invest through three core pillars - activate incubate and award.

The shjSEEN activate programme will organise inbound and outbound roadshow excursions to promote Sharjah's business cultural and lifestyle opportunities. ShjSEEN is also set to bring events to the emirate throughout the year that will bring attention to Sharjah as a business and lifestyle destination.

The shjSEEN incubate programme will provide ongoing assistance to start-ups in their first year of operation.

The shjSEEN Award is an annual awards programme that will recognise outstanding business achievements.

"I am very excited about shjSEEN its endless possibilities and I am looking forward to working with community business leaders to shape the future of this city from a cultural lifestyle and business perspective. ShjSEEN is the platform for UAE residents to connect with community leaders to release their passion through action in business and economic participation" Al Madani said.

"We hope that by drawing on global best practices shjSEEN will boost further business success and create more jobs for now and future generations."
