Vice President Abu Dhabi Crown Prince lead procession as Qasr Al Hosn Festival opens

ABU DHABI 3rd February 2016 (WAM) -- Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces today led a procession signalling the start of the 4th Qasr Al Hosn Festival in Abu Dhabi.

The celebration was also attended by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Crown Prince of Dubai H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi Crown Prince of Ajman H.H.Sheikh Surour bin Mohammed Al Nahyan H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan National Security Advisor and Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs Sheikh Dhiyab bin Zayed Al Nahyan H.H. Sheikh Omar bin Zayed Al Nahyan Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chief Executive of Emirates Group H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan Chairman of Abu Dhabi Transport Department Sheikhs senior officials and citizens.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed attended an interactive show that narrated the story of Abu Dhabi.

Upon their arrival Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed were greeted with folklore songs glorifying the country and its leadership.

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and other Sheikhs joined the traditional Ayala dance show reflects Emirati's pride over their homeland leaders and forefathers.

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed toured the different sections and viewed photos of people and places in old Abu Dhabi. He also visited 'Qasr Al Hosn Exhibition' which narrates the story of Abu Dhabi and its connection with the Qasr al Hosn as the first landmark building in the island.

Mohammed Khalifa Al Mubarak Chairman of Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority said that Qasr Al Hosn symbolises the past and present glories of the UAE. He added that the festival's visitors will learn more about Emirati identity and the efforts being made for the restoration of Qasr al Hosn.
