India's services sector grows for 19th month in Jan

(MENAFN) On the back of growing underlying demand and improved weather conditions, India's services segment activity reached a 19-month high over January.

A seventh successive monthly expansion of new business orders also contributed to the sector's expansion, which is expected to be followed by a boost in the labor market.

In more detail, higher workloads in Jan stimulated service providers to hire additional staff, following stagnation in the prior month, plus industrial jobs also rose slightly.

All in all, the Indian economy shifted into a higher gear in January, reinforced by a quick rebound in manufacturing production following last month's (Chennai) floods.
