(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Ramallah Feb. 3 (Petra) -- Israeli occupation soldiers on Wednesday shot and killed two Palestinians following an alleged stabbing attack Israeli radio said.
It said the Israeli troops stationed at the Damascus Gate in Jerusalem's walled Old City opened fire against two Palestinians killing them instantly before transferring four injured soldiers to hospitals.
The incident increased the Palestinian death toll since the start of the unrest last October to around 170. At least 25 Israelis have also been killed.
The surge of violence started after radical Israelis carried out incursions into the al-Aqsa Mosque compound in the Old City of East Jerusalem the third holiest site for Muslims.
