Exporters Association calls for more EU investments in Jordan


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman Feb. 3 (Petra) -- Chairman of the Jordan Exporters Association Omar Abu Wishah on Wednesday called on European states to step up their investments in the Kingdom beside extending further economic aid to help Jordan grapple with the Syrian refugees influx which cast a dark shadow over the country's various vital sectors.

In a statement released today Abu Wishah urged European countries to invest the donors' conference slated to take place in London tomorrow for providing financial support to the Kingdom to help it continue its humanitarian mission towards the Syrian refugees.

Jordan looks forward to an increased European support facilities and simplified trading rules so as to facilitate Jordanian products access to Europe's markets the official said.

He also emphasized the necessity of reviewing the European-Jordanian Partnership Agreement and addressing the trade imbalance that tilts in favour of the European side especially that Jordan's products have seen a significant development in quality.
