Oman- Sayyid Fahd Ban Ki moon discuss UN's role in tackling world issues

H H Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud al Said Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers on Tuesday received Ban Ki-moon the UN Secretary General and his accompanying delegation of senior officials.

Ban reviewed the efforts being made by the UN in political environmental and humanitarian fields.

Sayyid Fahd commended the role UN is playing in enhancing communication among countries.

He said that Oman under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said accords a great importance for cooperation with specialised international and regional organisations.

He also affirmed that the fundamentals of Oman's policy on international relations are aimed at supporting efforts for prevailing security and stability which are considered the basis to achieve sustainable development across the world.

Their conversation included UN's role in tackling issues and preparing the best means for understanding and preventing disputes. Ban expressed thanks and appreciation to His Majesty the Sultan for his support to the UN.
