UAE partakes in Arab Customs Union meeting

CAIRO 2nd February 2016 (WAM)--- The UAE participated in the 29th meeting of the Arab League's commission on the Arab Customs Union which began today at the General in Cairo in the presence of representatives of Arab customs authorities.

Tariq Abdullah Bourhima Chairman of the Customs Affairs Department at the Federal Customs Authority led the UAE delegation at the meeting.

The meeting touched upon several topics including a proposal from the United Nations Development Programme on the requirements of establishing a pan-Arab customs union.

On Wednesday the commission on the Arab Customs Union will hold an extra-ordinary meeting with the Arab Commission for the Unified Customs Tariff to discuss obstacles to negotiations on a unified Arab customs tariff.
