Al Bashir Says Peace Is Established in Darfur


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Khartoum February 01 (QNA) - Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir said peace has become an established fact on the ground in Darfur thanks to the progress made in the peace process and the implementation of the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur that established peace in the region.

In statements made on Monday al-Bashir said the Doha Document is permanent and internationally recognized adding that the administrative referendum that is currently being prepared is one of the last phases of the agreement.
The Sudanese president added that the term of the transitional authority in Darfur will end in July and peace will be completely accomplished.
On security conditions al-Bashir said Darfur is safe and rebels have no presence there adding that by completing the implementation of the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur the peace process will have clearly prevailed. (QNA)
