President of Azerbaijan arrives in UAE

ABU DHABI 1st February 2016 (WAM) -- President Ilham Aliyev of the Republic of Azerbaijan arrived today on an official visit to the UAE.

He was received upon arrival at the Presidential Airport Abu Dhabi by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and was accorded an official welcoming ceremony during which the national anthems of the two countries were played and a 21-gun salute was fired to honour the state guest.

President Aliyev shook hands with Sheikhs ministers and senior officials while Sheikh Mohamed shook hands with senior Azeri officials accompanying the President.

Among others present were Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi Speaker of Federal National Council H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan National Security Advisor Vice President of the Executive Council of Abu Dhabi H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foreign Minister and Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Hamel Al Qubaisi UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The President of Azerbaijan is accompanied by a delegation comprising of a number of senior officials.
