Qatar- Northern Cyprus FM visits Katara


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Northern Cyprus Foreign Minister Amina Tcholak with officials at Katara.

Doha: Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Northern Cyprus Amina Tcholak yesterday visited Cultural Village Foundation-Katara and was briefed on facilities and projects.

She praised the Village and its mission to bring people together and build bridges of communication between them.

Tcholak was accompanied by Katara General Manager Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti who gave a detailed explanation of events and activities. She also visited Open Air Theatre an architectural masterpiece of Katara and toured sections buildings.

She also briefed on events organised by Qatari Society of Al Gannas (Sniper Association) its activities including Qatari falconry and fishing heritage tournaments and competitions. She praised world-renowned cultural mega-projects to bring together cultures and peoples.

Dr Al Sulaiti stressed the importance of such visits to Katara which represents the first tourist and cultural destination in Qatar and the Gulf and reflects the development and renaissance taking place in Qatar at all levels and fields including culture.

Separately Qatari Businessmen Association Chairman Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani met Tcholak in the presence of the chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and the Chairman of the Chamber of Industry of Northern Cyprus.

Tcholak said her country has entered talks with southern Cyprus and they are in the process of achieving agreements for unification which will facilitate their integration into the European Union and generate more business opportunity and economic prosperity for their country.

Sheikh Faisal highlighted historical relations between the two countries praising the geographical location of Cyprus and the security and stability which will encourage investment.

The chairman of Chamber of Industry of Northern Cyprus presented investment opportunities five sectors including supply of water pipeline from Turkey.QNA
