New 3.4 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Northern Morocco


(MENAFN- Morocco World News) ;">Rabat – A newearthquake measuring 3.4 on the Richter scale took place on Sunday morning in the north of Morocco according to the National Institute of Geophysics according to ALyoum24.

The same source said another quake measuring 3.3 on the Richter scale shook the region of Al Hoceima Nador at around10 a.m.

The recurrent quakes that have shaken the region a week ago enticed feelings of fear among people who took to the street for safety measures.

Citizens have expressed anger towards the Moroccan government for turning a deaf ear to their distress and concerns.

They called on the government to afford tents to sleep outside the buildings for fear of a violent quake.

Last Thursday a quake with a magnitude of 6.2 on the scale of Richter was recorded off Nador in the same region.

Thursdayquake resulted in the death of a child reportedly from shock of the quake and minor collapses in old buildings.
